The Tiger baseball team opened their 2024 season with a 8-6 loss to St. Joe Monday at St. Pat's Park in South Bend.
The Tigers fell into an early hole and found themselves down 6-0 in the fourth inning.
But freshman Grady Nelson, playing in his first varsity baseball game, hit an opposite field grand slam to get Warsaw back in the game.
But the Tigers couldn't complete the comeback and fell to 0-1 on the season. Zac Miller started the game on the mound and went three innings, surrendering 3 runs on 3 hits. T.J. Edwards took the loss on the mound, pitching two innings and allowing a run.
