Girls Wrestling Competes at East Noble

The Lady Tiger Wrestling team traveled to the East Noble Invitational on Saturday.

In another deep tournament field and competitive day of wrestling, the Tigers had a few standout performances.

Kynna Yoder picked up a second place finish at 120 pounds.  She picked up a 3-1 record and picked up two wins by pin and one by tech fall on her way to the finals.

Kaiah Long also had a 3-1 record with her only loss coming to one of the state's top wrestlers at the 170 weight class.  After the early setback, she pinned her way to a 5th place finish.

Cadence Escoto took 6th place at 145 pounds with a 2-2 record.

Mariana Castro was on track to place in the top end of her bracket, but withdrew via medical forfeit after her 2-1 start.

Paloma Cervantes at 110, and Emily Dawson at 140 both earned two wins in their brackets, but finished just short of placement.

Kristina Kolembe also picked up a win in her varsity bracket, but fell short of placement.

In non-varsity brackets, Warsaw had two undefeated wrestlers and three others that picked up wins.  Emma DeWald and Natalie Davis went undefeated in their brackets.  Makayla McGlennen, Claris Avila, and Kaitlyn Long all picked up at least one win in their brackets.

The girls will return to the mats on Wednesday night when they travel to Penn High School for a midweek dual.
