Lady Tiger Wrestling Wraps Up First Season at State Finals

Warsaw Community High School was represented by two wrestlers in the inaugural Girls State Finals.

Mariana Castro picked up a win by pinfall in the opening round of the tournament to advance to the 155 pound medal matches.

Castro's path from there found rough patches and despite wrestling well, she finished with a 1-3 record for the tournament to take 8th place.

Castro's junior season record wrapped up at 27-12 with a sectional championship, a regional runner-up, and an 8th place medal at the State Finals.

Kaiah Long competed in the 170 pound bracket for the Tigers.

Kaiah's short two year career for the Tigers ended in the morning after losing the first match, but was marked with great successes. Long finished her senior season with a 25-8 record and a 45-16 career mark and was a sectional runner-up and regional champion this season.
