Warsaw's varsity baseball team had more than their share of chances against Mishawaka at Tiger Field Tuesday, but they just couldn't break the ice in a 6-2 loss.
Mishawaka scored 2 in the 2nd inning, and the Tigers had multiple innings with multiple men on base throughout the game. But the Tigers lost three runners--two on line drive doubleplays and another trying to advance to third--that ruined scoring chances.
Reed Nelson continued to look solid on the mound, giving up only 2 runs through 6 innings and 2 more with his final pitch in the 7th.
Mishawaka is 9-0 in the NLC, while the Tigers fall to 6-4.
