A 4-run 2nd inning and a quality start from Kyle Showley helped Warsaw to a 9-2 win over rival Plymouth Friday at Tiger Field.
The big inning broke a scoreless tie, and Showley went 5 1/3 innings allowing eight hits but only two runs while striking out seven. Plymouth mounted several rallies over the course of the game, but Showley and Josh Shapiro slammed the door on any hopes of making a comeback.
The Tigers added three more runs in the fifth to put the game out of reach.
Josh Reihl went 2-3 with a walk, drove in a run and scored twice. Jette Woodward also had two hits and drove in two in the win.
