Warsaw earned a key win in it's pursuit of an NLC championship Tuesday night when they defeated Goshen 6-1.
Rylee Burns was unstoppable from the opening whistle, as it took her just three minutes to give Warsaw its first lead. Seven minutes later, Burns would set up freshman
Lola Pepper to give Warsaw a 2-0 lead. Another goal four minutes later from Burns would give Warsaw a 3-0 lead heading into the half. The second half was more of the same as the Lady Tigers would add three more goals. A free kick by Goshen with 26 minutes left in the game would be the lone blemish on the scoreboard for Warsaw.
Goal scorers on the evening were
Rylee Burns (3),
Lola Pepper, and
Zoe Bergan. Assists were registered by Burns (2), Pepper (2), and
Sarah Kratzsch, and
Kiana Rager.
The Lady Tigers are now 4-2-1 (3-0). They return to the field Thursday night at #3 Homestead at 7:30pm.
"It was good to see us really impose our will on a very good team," Coach Jon Hoover said. "Our group had a bitter taste when thinking about the loss to Goshen last year. They came out firing all year."Â
