Scott Stepping Down as Lady Tiger Soccer Coach, Retiring

Lady Tiger soccer coach Clive Scott has announced that he is retiring from coaching.

Scott told team members of his intentions Wednesday afternoon.

"When (athletic director) Matt Binkerd asked me what I wanted to achieve with the Lady Tiger soccer team, I said 'to win something'," Scott says. "It took two seasons, and we won our first sectional title in seven years.
"Along the way we recorded victories over the two seasons against old adversaries; Penn, Homestead, and Carroll while achieving a .625 winning percentage."

Scott says his successor will inherit a roster that is ready to win right away.

"I believe the team next year is good enough to go on and win the Regional, but I have decided to pass the baton and let a new head coach achieve that goal."

"I think the most important quality for a head coach is that they care for their players," he continued, "and I do deeply, but I think it is time to retire as Head Coach."

Scott thanks Binkerd for his tremendous support of the program and his faith in him during his tenure. He also says he's looking forward to helping with the transition to a new coach.

"Coach Clive's short tenure had a positive impact on the Warsaw girls soccer program as he shared his great passion for the game with his players," Binkerd says. "This passion for coaching and for the team led to a sectional championship this year! We wish Coach Clive nothing but the best in this new season of life!"

The search for the next coach will begin immediately.
