The Warsaw Lady Tiger Soccer team cruised to a 4-0 victory over Northwood Thursday night in their home opener.
Lola Pepper opened the scoring in the first half just 11 minutes into the game as
Rylee Burns was credited with the assist. While the Tigers had established possession over the majority of the 1st half, the one goal is all they would get in the first 40 minutes.
Six minutes into the second half,
Rylee Burns turned up the defensive pressure, forcing a turnover from Northwood's back line. Burns was able to collect the ball and beat the Northwood keeper, extending the lead to 2-0. The second goal for Warsaw really opened the game up, as
Rylee Burns set up fellow-senior
Macy Wayne for a beautiful goal.
Sarah Kratzsch would net the final goal for Warsaw, who now moves to 3-2 and 2-0 in the NLC.
Claire German and Ellie Schenk earned the combined shutout in goal for the Lady Tigers.
Warsaw returns to the field Saturday as they host Bishop Dwenger. The game will start at 9am.
