Rastrelli Fastest by 35 seconds

Warsaw Lady Tigers Cross Country Team competed in the NLC Championship race looking to win the final leg of the team title Saturday.

The Tigers had won the first and second super-duals ensuring at least a share of the title going into the race.  With a strong team effort, Warsaw won the championship race to claim outright the team title.  This is the fifth consecutive time the Lady Tigers have won at least a share of the team title.

Josefina Rastrelli continued her win streak in the conference, taking first in a time of 18:21.  Mikayla Mimnaugh ran a personal best time of 19:47 good enough for 7th overall.  Samantha Rastrelli clocked another personal record at 20:10 which placed her 10th in the standings.  She was quickly followed by Elizabeth Vander Bie, 11th at 20:14, and Ella Laput 12th in a time of 20:17.  Also contributing to the team effort, Marissa Howett finished in 14th place (20:31), and Ellianna Transparenti 18th (21:00).  Each acted as place pushers causing other teams to score more points.

In the JV race, the Lady Tigers won with a perfect score of 15.  This means the Tigers took the first five places in the race.  Eden Metz led the Tigers, placing 1st, in a time of 21:06.  Margot Sprankle was 2nd in a time of 21:48.  Bryce Eherenman was 3rd (21:54), Isabelle Hermann 4th (22:06), and Kirra Morgan 5th (22:09) to round out the Tiger scoring.  Maddie Lesark (7th) and Morgan Himes (11) also medaled finishing in the top 15 runners.

The next step for the Tigers is the Manchester Sectional next Saturday.  Race begins at 10:30am.
