The Warsaw Girls Cross Country team put together a strong performance at the New Haven Invite, finishing 5th out of 18 competitive teams.
Eden Metz led the Tigers, finishing 30th overall with a time of 20:37.50. Sammi Rastrelli followed closely in 33rd place, clocking in at 20:49.00, while Ella Laput crossed the line in 35th at 20:55.30. Annie Parker and Stephanie Malagon rounded out the top five scorers, finishing 47th (21:24.70) and 49th (21:26.50) respectively.
The Tigers showcased their depth, with Bryce Eherenman and Hannah Fisher finishing 51st and 52nd, recording times of 21:34.60 and 21:36.00. The entire team pushed their limits, and the pack-running strength was on full display as Kyla Transparenti, Matilda Granger, and Kaelyn Stoffel finished strong for the team, continuing the trend of close finishes.
Coach Nate Howett praised the team's effort and resilience, saying, "I was impressed with the improvement of the grouping today during the race. Our leaders did a great job of pacing some of their teammates, helping bring them across the line together. The whole team pushed their limits and left it all on the course, and that's what makes this performance so special."
The Tigers will return to action on October 5th at Ox Bow Park for the NLC Championship Race, where they will be competing for a share of the conference title.
