Varsity Girls Cross Country

Girls XC Runs 4th at Chesterton

The Warsaw Girls Cross Country team had a strong showing at the Larry James Invite at Sunset Hills County Farm Park in Chesterton on August 24th, finishing 4th out of 13 teams with a team score of 126. Leading the Tigers was Sammi Rastrelli, who placed 7th overall with a time of 19:43.84. Eden Metz finished second on the team and 17th overall, clocking in at 20:40.59. Bryce Eherenman came in 31st overall and third on the team with a time of 21:43.17, while Ella Laput finished 37th overall and fourth for Warsaw in 21:46.63. Annabel Parker completed the top five for the Tigers, finishing 40th overall in 21:51.92.

Hannah Fisher achieved a personal best, finishing 6th on the team and 43rd overall with a time of 21:58.22. Stephanie Malagon, Aubrey Bricker, Katie Robertson, and Nadia Patton also ran personal records, finishing 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th for the Tigers, respectively. Bronwyn Poch rounded out the varsity effort, finishing 11th on the team.

The Tiger coaching staff was proud of the efforts from all the runners in today's race, particularly impressed with the steady improvement each week as times continue to drop. The team's strong finish and consistent progress highlight their potential for the rest of the season.

In the JV race, the Tigers also finished 4th as a team with a score of 106. Kaelyn Stoffel led the way, placing 16th overall and first for the Tigers in 23:38.20. Kyla Transparenti followed closely, finishing 17th overall and second on the team with a time of 23:55.44. Neko Ewert was 21st overall and third for the Tigers in 24:14.44, while Grace Landon placed 24th overall and fourth on the team with a time of 24:21.57. Airyana Bradley completed the scoring for Warsaw, finishing 28th overall and fifth on the team in 24:33.69.

Both the varsity and JV squads showcased impressive efforts, posting new personal records and continuing to improve their times across the lineup. The coaching staff could not ask for more from each athlete, as it was a great day to be a Lady Tiger.
