Girls XC Finishes 2nd at NLC Meet, Co-champs

Warsaw Lady Tigers Cross Country Team competed in the NLC Championship race looking to win the final leg of the team title Saturday.  The Tigers had won the first and second super-duals ensuring at least a share of the title going into the race. 

The Tigers fell just short of the mark with a 50-45 tightly contested second place finish to the Northridge Raiders.  With the second place finish, Warsaw will share the overall conference title. 

This is the sixth consecutive time the Lady Tigers have won at least a share of the team title.  

Josefina Rastrelli continued her win streak, three consecutive years, in the conference, taking first in a time of 18:18.08.  Samantha Rastrelli  ran a great time of 19:46.06 good enough for 6th overall.  Marissa Howett clocked another quality time of 20:21.63 which placed her 11th in the standings.  She was quickly followed by teammate Eden Metz, 12th at 20:25.22, and Margot Sprankle with a personal record  time of 20:59.9, a 20th place finish.  Also contributing to the team effort, Annabel Parker finished  in 24th place (21:26.96), and Elizabeth Vander Bie 28th (21:44.21). 

In the JV race, the Lady Tigers won with a score of 17.  Matilda Granger led the Tigers, placing 1st, in a time of 22:03.51.  Maddie Lesark was 2nd in a time of 222:06.68.  Bryce Eherenman was 3rd (22:19.7), Hannah Fisher 5th (22:37.77), and Ella Laput 6th (22:45.44) to round out the Tiger scoring.  Kaelyn Stoffel (16th) and Abygail Hermann (23:41.37) a personal record time good enough for 19th overall.

The next step for the Tigers is the Manchester Sectional  Saturday October 14th.  Race begins at 10:30am.
