Tigers Fall Behind Early, Still Win 9th Straight

Before Warsaw picked up their bats for the first time Monday, Plymouth had posted a 4-0 lead at Tiger Field.

But Warsaw scored 6 in their half of the first and went on to win their 9th in a row with a 14-4 win in 6 innings over the Pilgrims.

Plymouth scored their 4 in the 1st on only one hit off Brandt Martin, who walked 4 in the opening frame.

But the Tigers responded with a half dozen in a first inning that took 37 minutes to play.

Junior Reed Nelson came in to start the 2nd inning and quickly settled things down. In 4 1/3 innings of work, he allowed only 1 hit and fanned two.

At the plate, Warsaw was led by Hunter Dippon who went 2-4 with 2 RBIs and a run scored. Khareus Miller walked 4 times and scored twice.

The Tigers drew 9 walks on the evening.

Warsaw (15-5) is now 9-1 in the Northern Lakes Conference, and travels to NorthWood Wednesday.
