The Tiger baseball team clinched a share of the NLC championship with an 8-2 win over Northridge at Tiger Field Friday.
Warsaw plated 4 in the bottom of the first and never looked back. They scratched out another run in the 2nd and then put the game on ice with 3 more in the 6th on a 3-run home run by catcher Cohen Heady.
Reed Nelson was solid again on the mound, allowing just 2 unearned runs over 5 innings to get the win. He threw 65 pitches in his outing--42 for strikes. Brandt Martin pitched a scorelss 6th inning, and Kellen Bailey got the final three outs for the Tigers.
It was Warsaw's 11th straight win and puts them at 17-5 on the season, 11-1 in the league. They are scheduled to play in a tournament at Fairfield Saturday before Concord comes to Tiger Field Monday. A win over the Minutemen would give Warsaw an outright NLC title.
