Tiger Baseball Rallies Late But Comes Up Short Against NorthWood

Warsaw baseball suffered its first conference loss of the season, falling 4-2 to NorthWood at home Monday.

Both teams are 3-1 in league play.

NorthWood took the lead in the 2nd inning with a run, then added single runs in the 3rd, 4th and 7th.

The Tigers were held scoreless until the 7th, but had runners at second and third in both the 5th and 6th innings but couldn't push across any runs. In the 7th, Wyatt Stapleton singled, Khareus Miller was out trying to bunt, and eventually the Tigers would break the ice with RBI singles by Cohen Heady and Hunter Dippon. The bases were loaded Warsaw with only one out, but the next two batters fouled out to end the threat and the game.

Zac Miller went the first 3 innings on the mound, allowed 3 runs (2 earned) on just two hits and fanned 5. Reed Nelson pitched 3 scoreless innings, and Quinton Brock allowed a run in the 7th.
