Warsaw's softball team fell into an early hole and was never able to get out of it in a 12-2 loss in 6 innngs at Wawasee Monday.
It was the conference opener for both schools.
Wawasee scored 3 times in the bottom of the first and added 5 more in the third to build an 8-0 lead they would not reliquish.Â
Warsaw responded with 2 in their half of the 4th thanks to RBIs by Addyson Sainer and Nekiana Hamilton, but they could get no closer.Â
Kaitlyn O'Dell started the game inside the circle, allowing 5 earned runs on 5 hits while walking four. She was relieved in the third by Addison Eastwood, who pitched the final 3 2/3 innings, giving up only 1 run on 4 hits.Â
