Tigers Shoot Down Northrop in Home FInale

You can make a pretty good case that the Tiger boys basketball team saved their best for last Tuesday night.

Playing in their final home game of the season, Warsaw jumped out to a huge lead early and ran away for a 74-21 win over FW Northrop.

Warsaw led after one quarter 25-3 and were never challenged by the Bruins, who are now 1-17 on the season.

Luke Bricker led Warsaw with 10 early points and a total of 27--all in the first three quarters. He hit five 3-pointers, as did Robbie Finlinson who finished with 15.

Warsaw (15-5) shot 27-47 FG (57%) and 13-26 from 3-point range.

But what had the crowd on its feet in the Tiger Den were a pair of spectacular follow-up dunks. The first came off a missed jumper by Bricker which Luke Yeager grabbed with his right hand and powered down through the rim. The other came just a couple of minutes later when Bricker ran down the middle of the lane and rammed home a two-handed dunk off another Tiger miss.

The JV also looked sharp in their final home game of the season with a 64-31 win over Northrop. Parker Justice scored 16 points for the second time in three games to the Tiger effort. Elijah Wright added 14 and Tristan Wilson also added 14 on 4 3-pointers in the first period. Warsaw has now won 10 straight and is 15-4.

The freshman team also played Northrop in the Career Center Gym and beat the Bruins 40-30 to end their season with a 15-6 record.

The JV and varsity will play at Hammond Morton Saturday with the JV starting at 1pm ET.
