The Lady Tiger Wrestling team was on the road Wednesday night for their first ever IHSAA Girls Wrestling Dual competition, and Columbia City's experience and lineup depth gave them the upper hand and the hosts earned a hard-fought 42-30 victory over the Lady Tigers.
Columbia City opened with forfeits at 100 and 105 pounds before picking up a win by pin at 110.
Zoe Ortega got the Tigers on the board with a pin in her first varsity match.
The Eagles picked up another win at 125 in the evening's closest battle before the Tigers would go on a run of their own.
Kynna Yoder and Natalie Davis earned pins for Warsaw and Claris Avila picked up a forfeit victory to tie the score at 24-24.
Another Columbia City win was followed by a forfeit victory for Mariana Castro to tie it up again at 30-30.
The hosts would close the night out with pins in the final two bouts to secure the 42-30 win.
The Tigers will be back on the mats Saturday at the Sarah Hildebrandt Invitational at Penn High School.
