Tiger Football Digs Out of Early Hole, Beats NorthWood

First win at NorthWood since 2012

The Tiger football squad found itself in a 21-point hole in the first quarter Friday night, but found a way out in a 35-21 win at NorthWood.

NorthWood took the opening kickoff 80 yards on the opening drive to take a 7-0 lead.

Warsaw fumbled the ball away on the first play from scrimmage and the Panthers cashed that in for their second score of the game and led 14-0.

NorthWood then successfully tried an onside kick and scored on the ensuing possession.

At that point in the first quarter, NorthWood had scored three touchdowns and Warsaw had run one play from scrimmage.

But Warsaw got up off the deck and scored on their next drive on a 31-yard run by Evan Davis to cut the deficit to 14.

Warsaw finished off the half with a 2-yard, 4th-and-goal run by QB Quinton Brock to get Warsaw within 7 at the half at 21-14.

The Tigers took the opening drive 80-yards down the field in 5:57 and tied the game on a 21-yard pass from Brock to Ethan Egolf, who made a lunging catch in the back of the end zone to level the score at 21-21.

Warsaw took the lead with 1:27 to go in the third quarter on Tucker Reed's 41-yard run, and Brody Duncan capped off the scoring with 11:04 to play in the game with a 5-yard run.

Warsaw (5-3, 4-2 NLC) travels to Northridge Friday to finish the regular season.
