The Warsaw varsity football team lost for the first time this season, falling at NorthWood Friday 42-21.
The Tigers had a 14-7 lead and the ball at the Panther 38 yard line in the second quarter, but failed to score. That was followed by three NorthWood touchdowns in the next three possessions in 5:16. The Tigers, down 14 at the half, were never able to mount a challenge after that.
German Flores-Ortega led the way for Warsaw with 30 carries for 148 yards and a 20-yard touchdown.
Bryson Brown scored or a 25 yard run to put Warsaw ahead early, and Sophomore QB Drew Sullivan flipped a 3 years pass to Flores-Ortega for the final score of the night.
Warsaw falls to 4-1, 2-1 in NLC with Mishawaka coming in for the Homecoming game at Fisher Field Friday. Kickoff is at 7pm.
