Warsaw's bys basketball team defeated Mishawaka 61-49 Thursday to move to 6-0 in the Northern Lakes Conference and clinch at least a share of the league title.
The Tigers jumped off to a hot start, finishing the first quarter with a 21-6 lead.
But then the night took a sour turn.
Second leading scorer Luke Bricker appeared to injure his right knee in the second quarter. He was not able to put any weight on it and was helped to the training room and did not return to the game. Coach
Matt Moore said in his post-game radio interview that he didn't know any details.
Brandt Martin scored 11 points in the first quarter and finished with 17 for the game, while Robbie Finlinson chipped in 12.
The junior varsity game was won by Warsaw 39-20. The game was stopped with 5:58 left in the fourt quarter after a member of the game operations staff at the scorers table suffered a health issue and was stretchered out for treatment.
Warsaw travels to Marion Tuesday night.
