Warsaw bounced back from an early 10-point hole to win their fifth straight game with a 59-55 victory over Penn Tuesday night.
The Tigers found themselves behind 12-2 to the young Kingsmen, and trailed 12-4 at the end of the first quarter.
Warsaw seemed to find some offensive rhythm in the second, getting to within 3 at 23-20 at the half.
Then Brandt Martin took over, again.
Martin score 11 of the Tigers 15 points in the third quarter to push the Tigers to a 35-34 lead with eight minutes to play, then score 9 more in the fourth for a game-high 26 points. It was his third straight game of 20+ points, and again included a dramatic 3-pointer with 2:57 left that gave the Tigers the lead for good.
Martin was 9-10 from the field and 7-7 at the free throw line for the night.
With Warsaw clutching to a lead that never was more than five points after Martin's 3-pointer. Warsaw was sharp at the free throw line. They finished 18 of 19 at the stripe to win their fifth straight since losing to Luers at the start of the Bob Wettig Tournament in RIchmond.
In addition to Martin's 7-7, Luke Bricker was 6-6 and finished with 10 points and Robbie Finlinson went 5 of 6 and scored 15.
Warsaw won the JV game 46-32 behind Drew Jones's 18 points and Sam McDaniels's 15.
The freshman Tigers won in the Career Center Gym 32-26 over Penn in the Career Center Gym to make it a clear sweep on the evening.
Warsaw travels to Goshen to resume conference play Friday night, with the JV tipping at 6:15.
