Warsaw's 71 points at the track & field regional at Foreman Field in Goshen Thursday left them in 2nd place behind Penn's 96.
But Warsaw still will be sending an impressive crew to the State Finals to IU in Bloomington Saturday.
The highlight of the night was sophomore Jordan Randall, who cleared 7' and then 7' 1/2" to break his own school record and win the regional high jump title by 8 1/2". He's only 5'8" tall. He'll be at the state finals, and so will teammate Talan Asay, who jumped 6'4" to finish 3rd and also meet the state standard.
Kameron Kauffman continued his domination of the throwing circle, winning the shot put with 55'10" and a 2nd place finish in the discus. He advances in both events.
Jackson Gackenheimer won the 3200m in 9:19.
Blake Keene advanced in the 110m hurdles with a 3rd place finish, but missed out on the 300m by :00.05.
And the 4 x 800m Relay team of Tyler Mimnaugh, Clark Meridew, Rick Orr and Tyler Swartz finished 3rd.
Matt Marsh just missed out on advancing, taking 4th in the pole vault.
