The Warsaw Tigers hosted the Hutch Memorial Duals on Saturday in the Tiger Recreation & Activity Center.  The Tigers filled two of the eight teams in the field and put together some outstanding individual performances to bring home 2nd place.

Warsaw's varsity squad started the morning off with a 3-0 record in their pool with wins against Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran, Concord, and Penn(2).

In the cross-over pool to determine placement, Warsaw avenged a loss to Wawasee from last weekend to set up a showdown of 4-0 teams with Elkhart.

Warsaw rallied after a slow start to build a 17 point lead heading into the final matches, but Elkhart's final trio put together a masterpiece to close the day with 3 pins and a 40-39 win to take the tournament championship.

The Tigers had 4 wrestlers with undefeated records for the day.
Kameron Kauffman made his season debut with 4 pins and a win by forfeit in the 285 pound class.
Gabe Veit earned 4 pins and a tech fall at 126 pounds.
Alex Vallejo earned 3 pins and 2 major decisions at 138.
At 132 KC Smith picked up 2 tech falls, a major, a decision, and a forfeit.

A trio of Tigers had 4-1 records also.
Danny Moon had 4 pins at 165, and Ethan Crawford earned a pin and a tech fall as part of his 4 wins at 106.  Judin Garza was also 4-1 for the varsity B squad at 106.

Andrew Hankins (113), Ilyjah Martinez (120), Liam Smith (175), and Noah Wilkins (190), and Alan Gutierrez (113/varsity B) all picked up 3-2 records for Warsaw.

Warsaw's record for the season is now 8-3 and 2-1 in the NLC.
The Tigers will host Plymouth in the Tiger Den on Thursday night.
