Football Falls from Ranks of the Unbeaten

The Warsaw football team got off to a bad start at Mishawaka Friday, and they never recovered.

Warsaw lost for the first time this season in a 34-11 loss at Mishawaka, falling into a second-place tie with Northridge in the NLC standings.

On the first play from scrimmage, Cavemen QB Brady Fisher faked a handoff, ran left, and kept running for a 73 yard touchdown run to put Mishawaka ahead :21 seconds into the game.

The Tigers pinned Mishawaka deep in their own end with punts in the first quarter, and bad punts by the Cavemen allowed the Tigers to start two drives inside the Mishawaka 40 yard line. Unfortunately, the Tigers were only able to manage 3 points in those two possessions.

Mishawaka has the inside track to the conference title with three games to play.

The Tigers will try to rebound in the "W Trophy" game Friday against Wawasee at 7pm. Kickoff is at 7pm.
