On Saturday the Lady Tiger's rugby team played away at  defending state champions Carmel.

The Warsaw ladies had a point to prove having lost to them last spring in the final. 

The Tigers soon got into their game putting some strong physical tackles and hitting both offensive and defensive rucks hard.  Carmel were shocked by Warsaw's  pace and physicality which opened a gap in their defense leading  to a break down the left wing ending with with Mia Blocher going over for try within the first 10 minutes of the game. The conversion was kicked by Raquel Bermudez giving  Warsaw a 7 point lead,

Play then when back and forth with some solid defense being shown by the lady Tigers. 20 minutes into the half Warsaw won possession inside their own side of the field but were under pressure from the Carmel defense. A clearing kick over the onrushing  Carmel defense and to the left side of the field by Angel Tovar-Himes was gathered on its first bounce at pace by Tahlia Fellers. She then proceed to out pace the Carmel defense going over for a try which was converted by Raquel Bermudez giving Warsaw a 14 point lead. Carmel pushed hard to score and despite some strong defense eventually scored a try just before the end of the half which was converted taking the score at the half to Warsaw 14 Carmel 7.

At the start of the second half Warsaw again came out strong with Raquel Bermudez scoring a try off the back of a scrum close to the Carmel line to extend Warsaw lead out to 12 points. Carmel again hit back scoring a try in the middle of the half which was converted taking the score to Carmel 14 Warsaw 19. Warsaw again pushed Carmel back deep into their half and secured another scrum close to their line. Again after a dummy run by scrum half Karen Cervantes-Vera drew the Carmel defense to the right  Raquel Bermudez picked up the ball from the back of a scrum and crashed over to score her second try taking Warsaw out to 24 points.

Carmel came back again scoring their third try and making the conversion taking their score to 21. In the final minute of the game Warsaw infringed giving Carmel a kickable penalty which the took leveling the score at 24. With only 30 seconds left in the game Warsaw kicked off and Carmel received the ball and kicked it off the field to end the game in a draw.
