Add another magic moment in the long and storied series between the boys basketball teams from Warsaw and Plymouth, courtesy of Warsaw senior Drew Heckaman.
Heckaman took the ball with :10 remaining and the Tigers losing by one, drove into the lane, faded back and hit a 12-foot jumper with :02 to go to lift Warsaw to a 38-37 win over the Pilgrims Friday night.Â
Heckaman fished the game with 17 points, giving him 78 points over the last four games.Â
With the win and a loss by Mishawaka to NorthWood Friday, the Tigers finish alone in second place in the NLC at 5-2. They are 13-8 with home games Feb 21. vs Tippecanoe Valley and Feb. 24 vs Carroll to end the regular season.Â
The game against the Vikings will be Senior Night for Warsaw.Â
