Wrestlers Fall at Plymouth

The Tiger wrestling team traveled to take on the Plymouth Rockies on Thursday night.

Warsaw was able to keep the contest close late in the dual, but ultimately lost by a 49-27 score.

Winners for the Tigers were Aaron Ross, Lim Smith, Noah Wilkins, Bryce McNees, and Elias Garza.

Ross was the first varsity win of the night for Warsaw after the Rockies opened the night with three wins to start 18-0. His pinfall victory at 165 pounds started a three match run for the Tigers also.

After a Plymouth forfeit to Liam Smith at 175, Noah Wilkins notched another pin for Warsaw at 190 to even the contest at 18-18.

Plymouth picked up wins again in the next three matches before Bryce McNees secured a pin in his 113 pound match.

That was followed up by a tough performance from Elias Garza at 120 pounds. His 6-3 decision marked the final points for Warsaw on the evening as the match moved to 27-34.

Once again the hosts would rattle off three consecutive wins to finish the evening's contest at 49-27.

In JV action the Tigers picked up wins in six of nine matches.

Jace Vining was a winner by 6-0 decision. Ethan Crawford, Owen Barker, Nolan Stump, Hurley Rodgers, and Chris Figueroa were all winners by pin.

The varsity Tigers are now 7-6 overall and fall to 1-4 in the NLC. They will close out their dual meet portion of the conference on Saturday when they see Northridge and Northwood at the Raider Super Duals.

The JV will be back at Plymouth on Saturday for the Plymouth JV Invitational.
