Columbia City turned around a 13-point second-quarter Lady Tiger lead into a 13 point 61-48 win in the Tiger Den Tuesday.
Warsaw jumped out to a quick lead thanks to solid defense and terrific shooting and led 19-11 after one quarter.
They built that lead to 13 and Columbia City called time out with 5:31 left in the second quarter with the Lady Tigers up 28-15.
That's when the game completely changed.
After that timeout, the Lady Eagles went on an 18-2 run to end the half, and Tessa Tonkel's third 3pt FG of the first half gave Columbia City the lead at 33-30--their first lead since scoring the first basket of the game.
They extended that run into the third quarter, pushing their lead to 9 and 39-30 less than two minutes into the second half.
Warsaw was able to push the deficit back into single-digits on several occasions, but the fourth-ranked team in 4A had an answer every time.
Warsaw (7-4) was led by Brooke Winchester's 18, Brooke Zartman's 13 and Joslyn Bricker's 10.
The Lady Tiger junior varsity beat Columbia City 57-37. Cassie Jackson led four players in double-figures with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Warsaw shot 56% from the feld for the game--a season best.
The freshman team also won 23-21.
