The Tiger boys basketball team erased a double-digit deficit in the 4th quarter to beat Homestead 62-56 in the Tiger Den Friday.
The Spartans took a 47-38 lead into the final quarter, but Warsaw outscored the visitors 24-9 in the 4th to earn their second straight come-from-behind win to start the new season.
With Warsaw trailing 51-46 and just over 4:00 to play, Tristan Wilson was inserted into the lineup and he set up Robbie Finlinson for a 3-pointer from the deep corner to draw Warsaw within 2. Then with 3:18 left, Brandt Martin drove the left baseline and leaned back to score to tie the game at 51. Warsaw took the lead for good on an in-bounds play where Carson Gould caught the Spartans not ready and found Luke Bricker in the left corner for a wide open 3-pointer with 2:19 to play. Martin then completed an old-fashioned three-point play with 1:10 to put the Spartans down 6.
Martin finished with a career-high 25 points while Bricker added 20 off Matt Moore's bench.
