Big Start Leads Lady Tigers to Fourth Straight Win

The Lady Tiger Basketball team jumped out to a 22-0 lead on conference rival NorthWood and cruised to a 66-29 victory in the Everwise Tiger Den Tuesday.

NorthWood broke the ice with 1:58 left in the first quarter on a free throw by Megan Yoder, but Warsaw led 26-5 at the end of period.

Brooke Zartman led the charge with 13 points in the opening frame before turning her ankle early in the second and being held out the rest of the night as a precaution.

Joslyn Bricker's career-high-tying 26 points, including 14 points in the second quarter, led all scorers.

Brooke Winchester added 10 for her seventh straight double-figure game to start the season.

The swarming Lady Tiger defense forced 37 NorthWood turnovers.

Warsaw has won four straight and is now 5-2 on the season with a road trip to Indy coming this weekend to play Ben Davis Friday and Westfield Saturday.

The junior varsity also beat NorthWood for their fifth straight win 45-23.

Cayleigh Goheen scored 12 points and grabbed 9 rebounds, Lucy Andrew added 9 and Anna Allebach 8.
