The WCHS competitive cheer squad started practicing in June with the goal to make it to State.. They worked hard over the summer and throughout football season to achieve that goal. Their mantra was " We're here, we're Warsaw and we're going to State."
This squad gave up 5 Saturdays in a row to travel to Indy for cheer competitions and this was after cheering on the football team the night before.
This is the 3rd year in a row that Warsaw will be represented at the State finals. "This is a first for Warsaw cheer and the goal is to continue being a "familiar face" at the state competition," said Coach Kari Doty.
At prelims the squad competed against 22 teams with the top 14 advancing to State.
"As always, our goal is to place in the top 5 at State and make a name for Warsaw cheer throughout the state," she added.
They will be traveling to Newcastle High School this Saturday for the State finals. They are scheduled to perform at 11:00 am.
