Tiger Football Makes Quick Work of Goshen

Warsaw got off to a great start and never looked back in a 42-7 win at Goshen Friday.

It started on the opening kickoff, when Tristan Wilson took the kick at the 8-yard line and sprinted all the way to the Redhawks 33. A few plays later, Reed Zollinger punched it in from 2-yards out to put the Tigers in the lead. It was the first of 3 scores for the Tiger fullback on the night.

After a punt by Goshen on the ensuing possession, QB Quinton Brock rolled off the left side of the offensive line and went 85 yards to put the Tigers up two touchdowns.

They would add three more in the second quarter, and the IHSAA "mercy rule" kicked in for the entire second half.

Goshen's only score came in a 3rd quarter in which the 'Hawks maintained the ball for an 80-yard drive against the Tigers' JV defense that used up the entire 12 minutes of the period.

Wilson picked off two Redhawk passes. The Tigers played a turnover-free game.

The Tigers are 7-1 and 5-1 in the NLC--tied with Mishawaka and Northridge for the conference lead. The Raiders come to Fisher Field Friday to wrap up the regular season, with the winner getting at least a share of the NLC title.

The Tigers' postseason path will be revealed Sunday night starting at 6pm on www.ihsaatv.org and locally on the radio on News Now Warsaw 99.7 FM and 1480 AM and 107.3 WRSW-FM.
