Jaxson Gould became the 13th Tiger in Warsaw Boys Baksetball History to pass the 1,000 point mark--scoring 13 points in a 52-35 win over Concord Friday in the Tiger Den.
The Tigers (8-6, 3-1 NLC) kept their conference championship hopes alive with the win, but face the top two teams in the standings the next two weeks (NorthWood at home next Friday at Mishawaka at home Feb. 2).
The Tigers outscored the Minutemen 33-14 to erase an early deficit and build a 40-25 lead after three quarters.
Gould needed eight points starting the night to reach 1,000 points. He reached the milestone with a classic drive down the right side of the lane in the third quarter to put at 1,001.
He's the 13th Tiger pass 1,000, and also passed Tiger Basketball Marty Lehmann for 12th place on the all-time Tiger scoring list during Friday's win. Jax is now 16 points from Jason McKenzie for 11th on the all-time scoring list .
Luke Yeager also had 13 points and 8 rebounds.
Warsaw travels to Valparaiso Saturday for a late-afternoon matchup with the Vikings.
