JV Girls Soccer Finishes Season With Win at Northridge

The Lady Tiger JV team finished an undefeated season of their own as they defeated Northridge 1-0 Thursday night.

Warsaw came out early in the attack as they were determined to take the pace to Northridge. Less than ten minutes into the game, their pressure paid off as they were awarded a corner kick. Meredith Bowald took a corner kick and put it into a dangerous position where chaos ensued on the 6 yard. When the dust settled, Lizi Martinez found the ball at her feet and put it into the back of the net to give Warsaw a 1-0 lead.

The second half started with both teams having chances. Tiger goalkeeper Hailey Strange made a timely save on a Northridge breakaway early on to keep Northridge off the scoreboard. She would play the entire game and earn the shutout for the Tigers, who finish their NLC season with a 6-0-1 record.

Warsaw will host the NLC JV tournament on Saturday. They will open the morning at 9:00am against Mishawaka. They will play a second game at 10:45am with the opponent to be determined based on who wins and loses in the 9:00am game.
