Lady Tigers Bounce Back, Blow Out Valley

For the second straight game, Brooke WInchester set a new career high with a moster double-double as Warsaw won their last regular season home game 70-25 over Tippecanoe Valley Thursday night.

As they have so many times, Warsaw used their defensive pressure to create scoring chances and pull away early for their 19th win in 20 games this season.

Winchester backed up her stunning 24 point-21 rebound performance at Homestead Tuesday with new career high 27 points and 15 rebounds against the Lady Vikings. 20 of those points came in the first half.

Warsaw had three other players in double figures: Brooke Zartman 14, Joslyn Bricker 10 and Alexis Neely 10.

The first of Zartman's two 3-pointers in the scond quarter gave her 84 for the season and broke the school record she set last year. Zartman now holds the top three places on the single-season 3-FG list--66 as a freshman, 83 last year and now 85 with at least three games to go.

A brief ceremoney was held in between games to honor Zartman and Bricker for reaching 1,000 points in their careers--each with still a full season to go.

The junior varsity also got back on the winning track with a 39-4 win over Valley. They are now 18-2 on the aeason.

The Lady Tigers travel to Concord for a matinee Saturday. JV action begins at 2pm.
