Wrestlers Finish Regular Season With Shutout of Triton

The Warsaw Tigers closed the regular season in the Tiger Den on Wednesday against the Triton Trojans.

The home contest also served as Senior Night for the Tigers and they were sent off in dominant fashion - picking up a 78-0 dual meet win.

Warsaw picked up a win by pin from Aydin Cook in the night's only JV match prior to the varsity competition.

The momentum stayed on the Tigers' side from there as Beckham Boylan and Kameron Kauffman picked up first period pins at 215 and 285 to start the scoring.

Andrew Hankins, Judin Garza, and Ilyjah Martinez collected wins by forfeit at 106, 113, and 120 to extend the lead.

At 126, Gabe Veit racked up big points on his way to a first period tech-fall.

In one of the tightest matches of the night, KC Smith rattled off 4 takedowns to control a major decision victory at 132 pounds.

Alex Vallejo put in a grinding effort at 138, earning points toward a tech-fall before getting a pin in the third period.

Leo Castro also put up huge points in his match at 144 pounds.  He finished things off with a tech-fall in the first period.

Enrique Silva made quick work of his opponent at 150 pounds and earned a first period pin.

Zander Moore had a tough battle at 157 pounds, but scored enough points to earn a major decision.

Danny Moon closed out the head-to-head match-ups with a first period pin at 165 for the Tigers.

The scoring closed with Liam Smith and Noah Wilkins picking up forfeit victories at 175 and 190 pounds.

The Tigers wrap up the season with a 14-7 record heading into the sectional next weekend at Plymouth High School.
