Tiger Varsity Wrestlers 4th at East Noble

JV wrestles at Riley

Warsaw's wrestlers were in action Saturday with the varsity at East Noble and the jv at South Bend Riley.

VARSITY RECAP

The varsity Tigers put together a strong performance picking up a 4th place finish at the East Noble Invitational.

The Tigers were led by Danny Moon at 157 as the senior brought home the team's only individual championship.

Moon racked up three wins by pin to advance to the championship match. In the finals, he was able to score the only takedown of the match in the first period and ultimately earned a 3-0 win.

Kameron Kauffman was also a finalist for the Tigers. He also pinned his way through the first three rounds before dropping the match in the finals.

Ethan Crawford and Leo Castro were 3rd place finishers for Warsaw.

Crawford had a 3-1 record at 113 and put together one of his best offensive days, scoring 47 points in his 4 matches.

Castro battled to a 5-1 record for his third place finish at 138. Among the wins were three pins and a tech fall.

The Tigers got 4th place finishes from Andrew Hankins (106), Gabe Veit (126), and Enrique Silva (150).

Warsaw got strong outings and important team points from a group of 5/6th placers also.

Zander Moore (165) and Beckham Boylan (215) took 5th, while Liam Smith (175) finished 6th.

Non-place winners that also picked up wins were Ilyjah Martinez, Noah Wilkins, and Owen Corbin.

The varsity will be at Northridge next weekend for the NLC Conference tournament.
