The Warsaw wrestlers traveled to Penn High School on Saturday for the Regional round of the state tournament series.
Warsaw finished in fifth place as a team and five Tigers advanced through the field to next weekend's Semi State at East Chicago Central.
The trio of Bryce McNees, Elias Garza, and Kameron Kauffman all made their way into the finals and came home with runner-up finishes.
McNees pinned his way to the finals of the 113 pound bracket. In the opening round he scored a 57-second win and followed that up in the semifinals with a pin in just under a minute and a half.
Garza earned a major decision in the opening round by a 10-2 score. He then advanced via injury default in the semifinals of the 120 pound weight class.
Kauffman scored points in bunches en route to the finals at 215 pounds. His morning match finished with a score of 19-10 for a major decision. He followed that performance with a second period pin after racking up a 13-4 lead.
The 150 & 157 pound combination of Danny Moon and Aaron Ross both advanced with fourth place finishes.
Moon battled in a tough match for the morning's advancement round before picking up a pinfall victory.
Ross worked deep into the second period before finally nailing down his pin to advance in the morning.
Five other wrestlers competed as well for the Tigers. Senior 126-pounder Isaiah Martinez wrapped up his time on the high school mats while the crew of Freshman Donovan Frazier (106) and Sophomores Gabe Veit (132), Alex Vallejo (138), and Liam Smith (175) closed their seasons representing the Warsaw Community.
