Boys Track Beats Weather, Panthers

The Warsaw Tigers extended their undefeated season with a weather-shortened win over the NorthWood Panthers on Senior Night. Lightning halted the action on the track midway through the JV 200m with the Tigers holding a strong 80-29 point lead. After consulting with the meet official and WCHS Athletic Director, it was agreed upon to forego the remainder of the meet and not make up the missing events as it would interfere with upcoming meets and training opportunities.

On the night, Warsaw got to celebrate 15 seniors along with their parents. The 2023 Class includes:
Thomas Boggs     Tucker Curtis     Nathan Dailey    Bryce Duncan     Jordan Ehrlinger     German Flores-Ortega
Ethan Fussle         Garrett Hall       Ryun Hoffert       Morgan Johnson     Emiliano Juarez-Torres     Trey Koontz
Colton Martin         Ian Nichols       Haydin Rodriguez

"For many of our Seniors, they start to realize their high school career, which seemed so far away in previous years, is rapidly coming to a close," Coach Scott Erba said afterward. "Instead of focusing on that, we encourage them to prepare and take care of their own business on the track and in the field. I believe this night is a chance for them to shine and be acknowledged for their years of commitment to the program. We love seeing our Seniors take leadership roles and take charge of the team and the team outcomes. Tonight, we were able to move some athletes to different events and let them get results from uncommon events which gives us more options and gives them a chance to set new PRs."
