he Warsaw Wrestling team traveled to Northridge for the Raider Super Duals on Saturday.
The Tigers were able to pick up just one team win on the day against a tough field.
In the opening round, Warsaw squared off with Northridge. Northridge was able to jump out to a big lead early before run of wins late in the dual brought the Tigers to a 27-42 final.
After falling behind again in round two to Fort Wayne Snider, the Tigers rallied to win 4 of the last 5 matches; including a heroic pinfall from Gabe Veit in the final match to win 40-39.
Round three paired Warsaw with a strong Homestead team. While the dual saw many tightly matched battles, Warsaw was able to bring home just four wins and lost by a 24-55 score.
Round four was another tight matchup as the Tigers wrestled their final NLC dual against Northwood. Once again, several swing matches changes the course of the dual as Northwood was able to pull away late and Warsaw dropped the contest by a 30-45 score.
The final round paired Warsaw with Penn in a repeat from last week. While the Tigers won half of the matches, the Kingsmen were able to pick up more bonus points and Warsaw would lose a late lead and fall 33-37.
The Tigers had several standout performances again.
Bryce McNees, Danny Moon, and Kameron Kauffman each went 5-0.
Kauffman earned four pins while splitting time between 215 & 285.
McNees pulled in three pinfalls at 113, and Moon earned two at 150.
Aaron Ross did well in his return to full time action, going 4-1 at 165 with two pins.
Gabe Veit at 132, Isaiah Martinez at 126, and Donovan Frazier at 106 each picked up two wins for the Tigers.
Warsaw's season record drops to 8-10 and closed the NLC at 1-6. They will try to get back on track as they host Lakeland on Wednesday in the Tiger Den.
