The Tiger Wresting team picked up another big NLC win on Thursday night.
Battling against a tough Plymouth Rockie squad, the Tigers put together a gritty 40-34 team win by taking 8 of the 14 matches.
With the Tigers filling some holes with younger wrestlers due to illness and injury, the Rockies moved their lineup to create some tough matches. Plymouth won the first two matches of the night at 152 and 160 by major decision and pin.
Down 0-10, Warsaw put together back-to-back wins at 170 and 182 from seniors Bryson Brown and Jaxson Walters. Both matches came down to the wire with the Tiger combo pulling out narrow wins on points.
Now trailing 6-10, Warsaw's Nathaniel Rosas and Isaac Beam put together strong performances to earn pinfall victories at 195 and 220 to take an 18-10 lead.
Plymouth would earn a six-point win at 285 before the Tigers went on a run that pushed the team score out of reach.
A pin by Bryce McNees at 106 started the run.
From there, Drake Shilling picked up a win by forfeit at 113.
At 120, Elias Garza took a 0-0 tie into the second period and exploded for 13 points in the final two periods to grab a 13-2 major decision.
Warsaw's final points of the night came from Isaiah Martinez at 126. After an early takedown, Martinez went for a throw that put him in position to earn the win by pin and give the Tigers a 40-16 lead.
Plymouth would rattle of a late run to win by pin in the final three matches, but found themselves out of reach.
In JV action to start the night, Warsaw picked up wins in three of four matches.
Alex Vallejo, Leo Castro, and Liam Smith were each winners by pinfall for the Tigers.
The win moves the Tigers to 11-2 for the season, and 3-2 in the NLC.
Warsaw's varsity will head to Northridge on Saturday for the Raider Duals, while the jv will be in action at the Plymouth Invitational.
