Girls Basketball Wins in Historic Fashion Saturday

Beats LaPorte 69-7

The Lady Tiger Varsity broke a school record, tied another and came close on yet another in a 69-7 win over LaPorte in the Tiger Den Saturday.

The 7 points allowed in a game broke the record of 9 set in the 2015 sectional semifinals against Elkhart Central at Goshen.

Shutting out LaPorte in the 1st and 2nd quarters were the 18th and 19th times Warsaw had shut out an opponent in a quarter, and it marked the first time they had held the opposition for an entire half in the 1,037 games of Lady Tiger Basketball history.

Warsaw led 27-0 after the first quarter, 50-0 at half time and 56-1 after three quarters.

LaPorte's first point of the game came on a free throw with :06 left in the third quarter.

Brooke Winchester led Warsaw with 20 points--all in the first half. No other Lady Tigers was in double figures.

Warsaw will play in the DAC/NLC Shootout Saturday at Northridge against Crown Point and Merrillville
