Boys Soccer Season Ends at Noblesville

A rebound goal with just over a minute to play in regulation pushed Noblesville past Warsaw in the boys soccer regional semifinal 2-1 Wednesday night.

The Millers scored first 25 minutes into the match, but the Tigers scored to draw level on a beautifully struck free kick from just outside the penalty box and to the right of the Noblesville net. Dennis Hernandez came up to take the free kick, and curled the ball over the right side of the three-man wall and into the net to make it 1-1.

It stayed tied throughout the entire second half and looked like overtime was certain.

But Noblesville took a shot from outside the box, Tiger GK Nehemiah Wright gave up a rebound and the Millers were there to put it home with 1:01 left on the clock.

Warsaw had one final chance in the game's dying moments, but a shot from the top of the penalty box sailed high, and with it went the chances for a Tiger comeback.

Warsaw ends their season at 15-4-1.
