Knights Defeat Warsaw Gymnasts

Warsaw opened its 2021 gymnastics calendar with a meet in Kendallville Tuesday night.

The Tigers brought four athletes, but only three competed in all-around. Leading the way for Warsaw in its season opener was Sydni Purvis, who scored a 31.875 to place second in the meet, just behind East Noble's Miah Hudson, who scored a 32.85. The two were one-two in all four event disciplines, Purvis winning beam at 7.85 and Hudson taking vault (8.95), bars (8.025) and floor (8.6). Purvis posted 8.7 on vault, 7.0 on bars and 8.35 on floor.

Brooke Bollinger added a top-three for the meet, scoring 8.0 on vault, and was fourth on beam at 6.25. Bollinger had a 26.3 in all-around for fourth in the meet and teammate Julianne Olson posted a 24.775 in all-around.

Kiara Terry added a 26.85 all-around to help the Knights' cause.
